Youth Winter Training

Winter trainings are just around the corner! For our younger members, here is some more information:

  • All of our winter trainings will be at Cambridge Regional College (CRC) expect for February 14th. This is a larger space which will allow us the opportunity to break our players down into smaller groups, being able to teach skills more effectively.
  • The first one or two winter training sessions will be open for registration on Spond next week. If we pass a certain threshold we’ll add an outdoor component, weather dependent!
  • We are thrilled to announce that we have some new coaches for winter training! Coaches Ashlee Vice, Matthew McCormack, and Bret Donner will be joining our staff. You will also see that Coaches Danny McIver and Dave Grossman will be taking leadership roles at the trainings. Welcome Ashlee, Matt, and Bret!
  • Importantly, please note that winter trainings are designed for returning players 8 years old and up and new players to the club who are 8 years old and up with previous experience with baseball or softball. If you have any questions about this, or seek a waiver for your athlete, we encourage you to contact to using the button below. This decision was made to ensure the health and safety of our athletes was put first. While the size of the facility at CRC is larger, it still has logistical limitations we need to assess first hand. Tee ball for our younger athletes will start in March when we move to fully outdoor training.
  • Winter trainings will have a focus on build and player fundamentals, introducing a throwing programme aimed at building arm strength and arm health. We will also be introducing a hitting programme aimed at refining our player’s techniques, allowing them to confidently go to the plate knowing they can hit for contact and power. As these trainings progress, we will have an increased focus on our pitchers, catchers, and first basemen.

By the end of winter training our players will be ready for full-on, outdoor trainings! For any queries, please contact our youth team via the button below.
